The Missouri teenager who brutally beat Kaylee Gain during an after-school fight now wants to apologize.

The girl, identified as 15-year-old Maurnice DeClue, is accused of repeatedly bashing Gain’s head into the pavement during the fight on March 8.

DeClue then fought with other students before returning to Gain and clapping her hands. The fight was caught on cell phone video and sparked nationwide outrage.

The assault quickly became a racial powder keg since Gain is white and DeClue is Black.

Gain, 16, recently awakened from a coma in ICU after suffering a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.

Gain’s family said she is speaking and learning to walk again. But she has “significant cognitive impairment” and she doesn’t know why she’s in the hospital.

DeClue wants to apologize now that Gain is awake and speaking, according to her family.

The teenager “wants to apologize” to Gain, her parents Consuela and Ronald DeClue told KSDK in a phone call.

DeClue has been charged with assault and suspended from Hazelwood East High School in Spanish Lake.

They previously described DeClue as an A-list student on her school’s honor roll. They also said she speaks four languages, played volleyball and violin in the school orchestra.

Gain’s family said they want DeClue charged as an adult “given the particularly violent nature of this assault, and also taking into account the devastating injuries that Gain has incurred,” according to the news outlet.

A judge ruled that DeClue must have a hearing next month to determine whether she will be charged as an adult.

Attorney General Andrew Bailey blamed the “radical, woke DEI policies” of former St. Louis District Attorney Kim Gardner and current Rep. Cori Bush for the violence.

“These children grew up in St Louis. They have watched a Soros-backed prosecutor Kim Gardner who refused to prosecute criminal defendants,” Bailey said.

A GoFundMe set up for Gain’s medical expenses raised over $407,000 as of Wednesday morning.

A GoFundMe created to raise money for DeClue’s legal fees was deleted because she is criminally charged.
