Alabama men’s basketball star Brandon Miller has declared for the 2023 NBA draft, according to ESPN.

The 6-foot-9 potential No. 3 draft pick told ESPN he hopes to go 2nd behind No. 1 draft prospect, 7-foot-4 French phenom Victor Wembanyama, 19.

Miller’s collegiate career ended in Alabama’s upset loss to San Diego State in the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament last Friday.

Harris was fatally shot in her car following an argument at a nightclub on the Tuscaloosa Strip near the University of Alabama campus on Jan. 15. Former Crimson Tide forward Darius Miles, 21, was arrested and charged with her murder.

On Feb. 21, a police investigator revealed that the gun Miles allegedly used to kill Harris was brought to the scene in Miller’s car.

Miller’s attorney claimed his client didn’t touch the gun that was found in his backseat. However, text messages show Miles asked Miller to bring the gun to the scene.

“I never lose sight of the fact that a family lost one of their loved ones that night,” Miller said in early March. “This whole situation is just really heartbreaking. Respectfully, that’s all I’m going to be able to say on that.”

Miller has not been charged in the murder. But the controversy will follow him into the NBA.
