Woman heard laughing demonically during Philly looting is charged with 6 felonies

Philadelphia PD

Prosecutors threw the book at a social media influencer who was heard laughing demonically in live-stream videos of Philadelphia looters.

Prosecutors charged Dayjia Blackwell with six felonies for encouraging others to loot stores, including Apple, Lululemon and Foot Locker on Tuesday.

Blackwell, 21, was charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, conspiracy, criminal mischief, riot with the intent to commit a felony and criminal use of a communication facility, according to the New York Post.

Blackwell, a.k.a. “Meatball,” was heard laughing demonically while live-streaming the mayhem on her Instagram Stories. She is accused of urging her 181,000 Instagram followers to gather in the streets in downtown Philly on Tuesday.

“This is what happens when we don’t get justice in this city,” she yelled as she filmed youths looting a store.

In one video, she said, “Tell the police they’re either gonna lock me up tonight, or it’s gonna get lit, it’s gonna be a movie.”

Blackwell live-streamed looters ransacking an Apple store. “Free iPhones! Free iPhones! Got one!” she yelled.

Apple routinely disables all iPhones stolen from Apple stores. Ironically, police used Blackwell’s live-stream videos to identify her and other looters.

Blackwell was arrested at a gas station around midnight. She posted her teary eyed mugshot on her Instagram page and begged followers for donations to pay her bail.

Police are investigating reports that a “caravan of cars” ferried the looters from store to store. The reports fueled rumors that the looting was arranged by community organizers who used Blackwell and other influencers to get the word out.
