Man checks into drug rehab after 3 friends found dead in his backyard

A Kansas City man checked into a drug rehab facility after three friends froze to death in his backyard.

A source said Jordan Willis, 38, is “facing his addiction head on.”

“After the shocking loss of three of his close friends under extremely tragic circumstances, Jordan recognized that he had a problem with addiction,” the source said.

“He immediately checked himself into rehab after vacating his home and putting his things into storage.”

The bodies of Willis’ friends — Ricky Johnson, 38, Clayton McGeeney, 36, and David Harrington, 37 — were discovered outside his rental home on January 9.

The men gathered at the house to watch a Kansas City Chiefs game on January 7.

A neighbor told Fox News Digital two of the men arrived at Willis’ house carrying two 30-packs of beer.

Willis’ attorney initially said his client left the house “sporadically” on Monday and Tuesday.

But he later changed his story and said Willis left his bedroom sporadically on Monday and Tuesday.

Willis claims he slept for 2 days and didn’t know the three men were dead outside his house.

McGeeny’s fiancee went to the house on Jan. 9 and found Harrington’s body sitting in a lawn chair.

Police found two other bodies in the backyard.

Police initially handcuffed Willis and placed him in the backseat of a patrol unit.

Willis was later questioned and released.

Kansas City police insist the case is not a homicide investigation.

But family members believe Willis played a role in their deaths.

“There were four of you in the house and now three of them are dead and you’re not. That doesn’t add up,” David Harrington’s father, Jon, said last week.

“I’m thinking that he, the three of them learned something or saw something that they shouldn’t have seen, and he decided, ‘Well, I need to get rid of you now.’ Friends or not,” he added.

Family members said police asked for passwords to unlock the victims’ phones.
