Kodak Black was released from a Broward County, Florida, jail on Wednesday, February 21, after serving two months behind bars.

The troubled rapper, legal name Bill Kapri, pled guilty to violating his probation on Wednesday. A judge sentenced him to time served on a drug possession charge, stemming from an arrest in December 2023.

As Kapri walked out of the Broward County Jail, he lashed out at Local10 News reporter Rosh Lowe and his photographer.

The news outlet captured Kapri on video throwing rocks at the camera. In the clip, which can be seen below, the reporter is heard pleading with the rapper not to throw rocks at the camera. Kapri is then seen throwing a rock at the photojournalist.

According to Lowe, Kapri also threatened to punch him in what Lowe called “one of the strangest things I’ve ever seen.”

Lowe said Kapri was in a federal court in Pompano Beach, Florida earlier in the day, to plead guilty to violating his probation.

Kapri, 26, was arrested on Dec. 6, 2023 and initially charged with cocaine possession and evidence tampering.

An officer spotted the rapper asleep behind the wheel of a black Bentley SUV parked in the roadway.

The officer noted “a strong odor of burnt cannabis” was coming from the vehicle.

Additionally, he said that the rapper’s mouth was “full of white powder,” which tested positive for cocaine.

Kapri bonded out of jail on Dec. 16, but federal agents arrested him the same day for violating his probation.

The charges were later changed to Oxycodone possession after tests proved the substance in Kapri’s mouth was prescription Oxycodone and not cocaine.

Kapri’s lawyer Bradford Cohen proved the rapper had a valid prescription for the pain killer.

Circuit Court Judge Barbara Duffy granted the motion to dismiss the cocaine case and restored Kapri’s bond on February 9.

Kapri had his three-year prison sentence commuted by outgoing President Donald Trump on his last full day in office in January 2021.
