An aspiring drill rapper was ambushed by his opps and shot last weekend in Jacksonville. Charles Jones, who raps under the name Julio Foolio, was shot in the foot on Saturday, Oct. 7.

The black Dodge Challenger that Jones was driving was riddled with bullets. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said “it appears that the suspect or suspects were waiting for the victim and ambushed him.”

Jones, 23, was taken to U.F. Health Jacksonville Hospital in stable condition. He was in surgery Saturday night. Rumors swirled that doctors amputated his foot.

A graphic photo of his foot injury is circulating on Twitter/X.

Jones’ mother asked fans for prayers on Sunday. “Keep Foolio, my son, in y’all prayers he was shot last night in his hating city,” his mother wrote in his Instagram Stories.

Police have no suspects. Sources tell First Coast News Jones is not cooperating with law enforcement.

Jones’ music glorifies gang violence and drug dealing. In this video screenshot from his music video “When I See You,” Jones sits next to a poster featuring three deceased teenagers. Tre’von Bullard, Royale D’Von Smith Jr., and Jercoby Da’Shad Groover were killed in a mass shooting in June 2018. Jones mocks their deaths in his music video.

This weekend’s shooting was the second targeting Jones. According to reports, he was shot on Nov. 8, 2021 after getting out of his vehicle in Riverside. Hours after the shooting, he went live on his Instagram.

“I shot back in self-defense. Y’all dumb,” he said. “My gun is registered. If I did something illegal, the police would put me in jail. A ni–a did miss a whole hundred shots though. I know they sick right now, whoever did it… They must’ve thought I was lackin’ for sure.”

Jones was also shot and wounded in Houston, Texas, in July 2020.
