Former NBA G League player Chance Comanche made his first appearance in Sacramento Superior Court on Tuesday, Dec. 19, after being arrested by the FBI for kidnapping.

Comanche, 27, confessed to strangling Marayna Rodgers with a HDMI cable.

The 23-year-old medical assistant’s body was found in a desert area in Henderson, Nevada on Dec. 16, police said.

Comanche was arrested in Sacramento, California on Friday, Dec. 15, and charged with first-degree felony kidnapping.

He waived his right to challenge the extradition to Las Vegas on Tuesday. The judge accepted the waiver and said Nevada state authorities have 30 days to pick him up and return him to Las Vegas, where he faces murder charges.

Comanche’s ex-girlfriend, 19-year-old Sakari Harnden was arrested in Las Vegas. She is reportedly facing an “open murder” charge in Rodgers’ death, according to NBC affiliate KCRA in Las Vegas.

More details about the murder were revealed in a police report. Rodgers worked a side hustle as an escort. Comanche lured her to Las Vegas by pretending to be a client willing to pay for “kinky s*x”.

Rodgers and Harnden were reportedly friends. Rodgers left her boyfriend and dogs at home to travel from Washington state to Las Vegas.

She was last seen getting into Harnden’s car on Dec. 6.

Camanche allegedly committed the murder with the help of Harnden. They tied up Rodgers in the car and then he used the HDMI cable to strangle her to death.
