Bronny James, the 18-year-old son of NBA star LeBron James, was rushed to the hospital on Monday after suffering cardiac arrest during basketball practice at USC.

The good news is Bronny is now out of the intensive care unit and is in stable condition.

A spokesperson for the James family released the following statement:

Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered cardiac arrest.

Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital.

He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU.

We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.

LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.

You may recall in May, LeBron James took to social media to proudly announce his heir had signed a letter of intent with the University of Southern California to play on their men’s basketball team.
