Update, Sept. 1, 2023 at 8:30 AM:

Curtis Jackson, a.k.a. 50 Cent, is a suspect in a felonious assault and battery for throwing his microphone and causing serious injury to an audience member.

The Los Angeles Police Department has opened an investigation into the incident, and 50 Cent could face charges.

The incident took place during Fiddy’s old skool “The Final Lap Tour” stop in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Aug. 30.

The 48-year-old rapper/actor was performing on stage with L.A. rapper YG when someone handed him a mic because his wasn’t working.

Fiddy flung the broken mic off stage, hitting Power 106 host Bryhana Monegain in the forehead and causing a laceration that bled profusely.

Bryhana sent photos of her injury to The Neighborhood Talk Instagram blog.

50 Cent’s lawyer, Scott Leemon, told Page Six the aging rapper didn’t intend to hit anyone when he threw the mic into the production area.

“Let’s be very clear, as I told LAPD this afternoon, my client, Curtis, would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone,” Leemon said. “Anyone saying something different doesn’t have all the facts and is misinformed.”

50 Cent has not publicly addressed the mic throw or apologized to Bryhana, as of Thursday morning.

TMZ reports Bryhana filed a police report Wednesday night. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that they believe 50 threw the mic at his crew in the production area and it accidentally hit Bryhana.

However, Bryhana told police 50 Cent looked directly at her before throwing the mic. It isn’t clear if 50 Cent and Bryhana have a prior history together.

Bryhana went to the hospital and was treated for a laceration on her forehead.

50 mentioned the L.A. stop of his tour in a post on Twitter/X.

“My LA show was SIRE approved. Man, that was crazy! My little man could feel the love,” he said, referring to his 10-year-old son, Sire, with Daphne Joy.
